Popeyes is expanding its menu beyond chicken sandwiches — and this time it's a permanent change.
Popeyes added five chicken wing flavors to its menu nationwide with three debuting for the first time. Honey BBQ, Roasted Garlic Parmesan, Ghost Pepper, and Sweet 'N Spicy.
“At Popeyes, we like to challenge the status quo and are consistently redefining what’s expected from fast food brands,” said Popeyes North America president Sami Siddiqui.
We know our guests want more bold Louisiana-inspired wing flavors and are excited to launch our new wings line-up.”
Siddiqui said the Ghost Pepper wings were a “overnight success” when tested earlier this year, and the Sweet 'N Spicy wings have been the chain's best-performing product since its chicken sandwich.
Popeyes said it spent three years perfecting its wings recipes. New wings will cost $5.99 for six.
Popeyes overtook KFC as the second-largest U.S. chicken chain last month, behind Chick-fil-A.
