Beyond Meat Introduces Costco Burger Patties

The California plant-based pioneer claims they made a beef-tasting patty. Beyond Meat is launching its new plant-based burger exclusively at Costco.

The new patties have 19 grams of protein per patty, 35% less saturated fat than a standard 80/20 beef burger, and no cholesterol, antibiotics, or hormones, targeting new consumers interested in New Year lifestyle changes.

“The end of the year is full of group gatherings and the start of the New Year brings renewed focus on lifestyle choices, so this window offered us an opportunity.

It introduce an updated value pack during a time in which shoppers will be looking for delicious, convenient, and nutritious options that everyone can enjoy,” a Beyond Meat spokesperson told Food Dive.

The company says the new burgers are “closer in taste to beef” and come frozen in 10-packs.

2023 was tough for Beyond Meat. The sixth consecutive quarter of negative sales growth occurred in November.

According to CEO Ethan Brown, the company plans to abandon U.S. product lines, restructure its pricing approach, cut working capital, and focus on revenue-growing locations and markets.

The revamped burgers, which the company says are “closer in taste to beef” are sold frozen in packs of 10.
