Mix Dry Ingredients

n a large bowl, mix 4 cups of flour, 2 teaspoons of yeast, 2 teaspoons of salt, and 2 teaspoons of sugar until well combined

Add Warm Water

Gradually add 2 cups of warm water to the dry ingredients, stirring until a soft dough forms. The water should be around 110°F (43°C)

Knead the Dough

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Let the Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.

Shape the Loaves

Punch down the risen dough and divide it into two equal portions. Shape each portion into a round loaf and place them in greased baking pans.

Let the Dough Rise Again

Cover the pans with kitchen towels and let the dough rise again for about 30 minutes, until it fills the pans.

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) while the dough is rising for the second time.

Bake the Bread

Once the dough has risen, place the pans in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped

Enjoy Your Bread

Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm with butter or your favorite toppings. Enjoy your delicious homemade peasant bread!
