America's largest doughnut business is discontinuing a plant-based milk. Nation's Restaurant News said that Dunkin' will discontinue coconut milk nationwide at the end of the year.
Dunkin' stated customers may still purchase Mango Pineapple or Strawberry Dragonfruit Refreshers with a green tea base, even though the coconut milk version is gone.
This also means the chain's Coconut Refreshers were cut. Dunkin' Refreshers Coconut Refreshers are fruit-flavored iced drinks containing energy-boosting vitamin B.
It will discontinue coconut milk in locations nationally in 2023, but new and exciting beverage innovations are coming in 2024 to offer guests a wider range of coffee and non-coffee drinks.
Dunkin' did not explain the menu change, but Statista reports that coconut is the least popular of the four plant-based milk pillars in the US: almond, oat, soy, and coconut.
Dunkin' said it was one of the first national restaurants to offer oat milk in 2020 and almond milk in 2014. Coconut milk debuted in 2021, therefore its chain life was brief.
The menu features new and returning items, led by the Pink Velvet Macchiato, which is returning after two years.
The new White Hazelnut Bark Coffee, Pancake Wake-Up Wrap, Brownie Batter Donut, and Cupid's Choice Donut are Valentine's Day options.
