Jack In The Box's New Cookie Bar Is Geared Toward Oreo-Lovers

Oreo shakes are already a frequent menu item at Jack in the Box, and the company is expanding its cookie options with a new sweet treat: the Oreo Ultimate Cookie Bar.

The chocolate wafer cookies are blended into a blondie (vanilla brownie) with chocolate chips and baked on an Oreo crust for a double hit of one of the most popular cookies in the United States.

For a limited time, participating Jack in the Box franchise stores are providing the soft brookie-style dessert for $3, however prices may vary depending on region.

Throughout the year, it has offered a number of limited-time Oreo shakes, including a "ultimate" version that combined cookie crumbles with its chocolate shake and a mint-Oreo combo released in collaboration with Mint Mobile around St. Patrick's Day.

The menu changes appear to have been a good combination for Jack in the Box, as it has returned to the Oreowell.

Jack in the Box is on trend, using all social media channels to promote and distribute free meals, such as the recent 24 Days of Jackmas.

According to Oreo's parent company, Mondelz, limited-time promotions are one of the best ways to create demand and test new menu concepts, making Jack's new cookie bar release a smart marketing move following the winter holiday season.

Oreo cookies are a traditional snack with over a century of history and a plethora of taste varieties to select from. Interestingly, one of the flavors is Brookie-O Brownie, which sounds similar to Jack in the Box's Oreo Ultimate Cookie Bar.

But, whether it's shakes or cakes, it stands to reason that restaurants rely on cookie brand familiarity when producing new recipes and menu items. According to Tastewise, over 15% of all eateries feature an Oreo item on their menu.
