Applebee's owner, Dine Brands, released its third-quarter 2023 earnings report on Nov. 1. Same-store sales fell 2.4%, while average weekly sales were greater than before the outbreak.
During the last five months, Applebee's culinary team has tested more than 200 new menu concepts ranging from different cuisines to innovation of current menu items.
We also have new beverage concepts rolling out in 2024, which are generating positive franchise system anticipation.
In September, Applebee named Shannon Johnson vice president of culinary to lead this menu makeover. Johnson, who was Applebee's senior chef from 2003 to 2012.
Applebee's didn't reveal details during the conversation. It will release many of these new things in 2024 and revamp some of its older locations.
The business will provide additional discount promotions like October's Dollarita return and late summer's all-you-can-eat Boneless Wings campaign, but he didn't specify.
An Applebee's spokeswoman tells that the Quesadilla Chicken Salad was tested and added to the menu. Grilled chicken, Mexi-ranch dressing, black bean corn salsa, and cheddar cheese are served on greens.
These new menu items are some of the greatest the brand has ever tested, so guests should expect to enjoy new dishes and old favorites like our boneless wings at Applebee's in 2024.
