Subway Fans Lament Initial 3-Inch Sandwich Debut

Subway fans are furious after Pakistani stores introduced their first 3-inch small sub as a budget choice.

Last week, a Subway spokeswoman told Bloomberg News that the bite-size sandwich, which has surfaced on Pakistani menus and social media, offers “value” to customers.

The company's smallest sandwich, six inches, is now half that length. The 12-inch “footlong” sub is its greatest size.

Subway Pakistan's Instagram post announced the launch: “Say hello to our NEW Mini Sub! Perfect for snacking! Get ready to adore its amazing flavors!"

A second post read, “Our New Mini Sub is the cutest explosion of taste you'll ever experience!” and said, “Unleash the mini magic”.

The reduced size comes as Pakistan faces Asia's fastest inflation, which has caused double-digit fuel price increases amid a cost of living crisis.

Pakistan's statistics agency reported 38.5% food inflation in August. Many eateries have raised rates or cut portions to combat rising prices.

Pakistan avoided debt default after receiving a $3bn IMF bailout in July. Fuel and electricity prices will rise as part of the accord.
