This shouldn’t come as a surprise, but it’s the first time a hybrid powertrain is offered for the 4Runner. This new i-Force Max hybrid powertrain delivers 326 horsepower to the wheels.
It comes standard in the TRD Pro, Trailhunter, and Platinum trims. It’s also an optional powertrain for the TRD Off-Road and Limited models, giving you five trims that can use the i-Force Max hybrid powertrain.
Disconnecting front anti-roll bars makes it easier to go off-roading on some of the toughest trails. The new 2025 Toyota 4Runner features them on the TRD Pro and Trailhunter models as part of the standard packaging.
This means greater front wheel articulation for hardcore trail riding. This feature is also an option for the TRD Off-Road trim, giving all three off-road trims this great feature.
These off-road trims come equipped with rear suspensions that include external reservoirs. The TRD Pro has Fox QS3 dampers with manually adjustable compression settings.
The Trailhunter trim features ARB/Old Man Emu dampers. These dampers are just another item that the 4Runner shares with the new Tacoma.
While most SUVs have ditched the roll-up and down rear glass, the 2025 Toyota 4Runner continues to include this feature. This gives drivers a little more versatility and retains a classic and popular feature of this well-loved off-road Toyota SUV.
